The project is located in Oxford Green and features cricket, football, and flat grass for gaming and recreational use. According to the land-use study, the land is widely occupied by students, residents, and animals at various times and spaces. To respect the current circulation and occupation, the brief is designed to empower the existing activities and support the possibly deprived ones. Because Exeter College owns the land, the program focuses on providing the necessary sports facilities support for university students, while being inclusive of residents and animals.
The ground is manipulable topography that provides different spectator views of the game on the pitch. The building uses timber to create a coffer-like undulating roof that is both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly, with green roofs connected with glazing to provide visual continuity to the landscape.
The iteration of the design is based on Space Syntax, which shows the connectivity between varying devisions and functions of the site.
