Chocolate Meets Ceramics (Don’t Do Cocaine, Do Chocolate)

Project details

Programme
Unit UG14
Year 2

The project explores chocolate as a building material by creating compound chocolate that resists high temperatures and water. Adapting the material to a rainwater harvesting system, the chocolate feeds water to the cocoa plants. This grows cocoa trees and ends with chocolate as a final product for consumption and construction.

Reflecting on the similarity between cocaine and chocolate, the programme encourages reformed addicts to seek satisfaction from the journey from bean to bar. Visitors will enjoy a dining experience, consuming various chocolate products in a place that echoes the element in the structure's form and the water system.
