Promoting the speciality of gin production, the programme includes a gin micro-distillery and infusion laboratory. Onsite private accommodation is provided for gin lovers to partake in weekend learning experiences.
Gin has a distinctive flavour profile created using botanicals. The learning activities allow visitors to experience the smells and olfactory memories that can be triggered while infusing their own crafted gin.
Applying close investigation into the materiality of the urban structure, parametric algorithm iterations form a super-structure made from ETFE and timber structures. This provides a fully exposed building for functionality and the survival of botanicals grown in-house.
Located in Peterborough city centre, the project provides speciality production, civic and urban connection, within a well-designed and naturally ventilated building for an unforgettable olfactory experience.
A purification wash basin made entirely from cork.
As a semi-public building, users are taken on a journey into the sensory world of gin and gin distilling.
Catered space and private residence for weekend experience visitors, experts and learners. Lightwells and the super ETFE roof structure invite natural light into the building.
The ETFE super-roof structure – supported by parametric timber structure ribs – provides transparency to allow natural light into the building for the in-house garden to function.
