As urban expansion remains one of the main threats to global biodiversity, Parasite aims to introduce society to the dual character of insects. Firstly, the creation of diverse urban meadows will equip pollinators with an ability to fight off pathogens and microbes. It will create a safe habitat for them as they are so vital for London’s environment. Monocultures of insects such as bees will be replaced with a healthy and balanced variety of habitats. Secondly, an already advocated diet change by entomologists will be introduced. Insects will become a new food trend in the heart
of London. As a project’s name suggests, the parasite will infect other parts of London with a new food trend beginning from a new hotspot in busy and vibrant Oxford Circus.
